Musical Theatre West is a professional musical theatre company dedicated to enriching the lives of Southern California Residents. We offer four mainstage musicals each year along with other arts events throughout Long Beach. We have a diverse educational program dedicated to ensuring that each student gets the opportunity to be exposed to the arts.
Rogue Artists Ensemble is a collective of multi-disciplinary artists who create Hyper-theater, an innovative hybrid of theater traditions, puppetry, mask work, dance, music, and modern technology. Through a collaborative development process, with an emphasis on design and storytelling, the Rogues create original, thought-provoking performances. We cultivate unique audience experiences that appeal to multiple generations of theatergoers in order to expand the boundaries of contemporary American theater.
SODE School of Performing Arts teaching artists are industry professionals who are passionate instructors, experienced in multiple dance genres, music and performing arts styles. Our goal at SODE School of Performing Arts is to educate, inspire and expose our students to dance, music, language and theater basics in a fun and safe environment.  We believe in encouraging self-expression, creative thinking, and confidence building throughout all of our programs.  SODE School of Performing Arts offers in-school dance programs throughout elementary and middle schools across Los Angeles.
Since 1985, The L.A. Troupe, Theatre-in-Education has strived to promote an enhanced understanding of social, cultural, and community issues by engaging with students of all ages. We achieve this by creating age appropriate performances, workshops, and residencies which explore themes that resonate in contemporary society. Programs include the works of Shakespeare, Rostand, Homer, and Poe, as well as productions developed specifically for curriculum or community requirements.
MY OWN STORY is an autobiographical writing/storytelling/performing workshop for youth to creatively explore, write, and perform their own unique autobiographical life stories in the context of monologues, spoken word, and performance/theater. THREE LIVES is a one-man performance/theater show that tells the autobiographical tale of Alex Luu's escape from war-torn Saigon. The show is kinetic/comic/poignant, and addresses themes such as identity, assimilation, racism, and the multi-layers of the American Dream.
Our School Partners Program serves as many as 10,000 Los Angeles pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students each year through student matinee performances and corresponding workshops for teachers. We also have in-depth partnerships with Wallis Focus Schools in underserved communities. These partnerships include matinee performances throughout the season, sessions with visiting teaching artists, arts career days and opportunities for students and parents to attend shows together.
The Armory Center for the Arts builds on the power of art to transform lives and communities through creating, teaching, and presenting the arts. At the core of the Armory’s work is a deep commitment to social justice through arts education. A key goal of the Armory’s mission is to provide engaging, high-quality art classes and art experiences in the region’s lowest income neighborhoods in order to advance cultural equity. Over 80% of programming serves socioeconomically disadvantaged youth and families.
Education Through Music-Los Angeles puts music back into inner-city schools as part of the core curriculum for every child, where it belongs. Education Through Music-LA is serving nearly 12,000 students with weekly, yearlong music instruction. Music has the power to transform the lives of children and their communities, and to provide them with such lifelong benefits including self-confidence, problem-solving skills, teamwork, perseverance, concentration, and motivation to stay in school. Create Now is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that gives youth opportunities to find their voices through arts mentoring and education. We especially serve children ages 2-21 who have been abused, neglected, homeless, domestic violence victims, incarcerated, etc. by matching them with artists, writers, musicians, actors, dancers and others, including mentors who teach life skills. Create Now provides training and materials to implement therapeutic programs in music, writing, visual arts, performing arts, fashion and digital media at 100+ partner agencies, like shelters and group homes.
Lineage Dance and Performing Arts Center is a nonprofit arts organization that creates dance performance, provides arts education, nonprofit support, arts production infrastructure, dance classes for persons with movement challenges, and more.
