Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center

About:

The Santa Clarita PAC K-12 Arts Education Outreach Program provides exceptional workshops, residencies, assemblies & bus-in opportunities for schools and students. Our roster continues to grow as we add new teaching artists and workshop choices as well as exceptional assembly programs. All of our programming meets or exceeds California’s Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) standards, and many of them support the California State Common Core Standards.

Since 2010, the PAC K-12 Arts Education Outreach Program has grown from a program servicing one school with residencies to a program that is now in 30 out of 40 elementary schools in the Santa Clarita Valley. Working with more than twenty teaching artists and performers we bring a wide variety of programs to participating schools. In addition, we host between five and seven bus-in performances at our state-of-the-art theatre located on the College of the Canyons Valencia campus.

It is our belief that early first-hand exposure to the arts plays an important role in child development. To reach this goal, the K-12 Arts Education Outreach Program exposes students to the visual and performing arts, while collaborating with local educators to develop enhanced arts education programs. Through school assemblies, bus-in events, classroom visits and family performances, students enjoy performances that meet or exceed California’s Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) standards.
