About

Creative Wellbeing provides culturally relevant, healing-centered arts education that builds mental health protective factors for system-involved youth impacted by LA County's child welfare system. Creative Wellbeing is a non-traditional approach that integrates arts and mental health strategies to support social-emotional development and healing from trauma. Join us to learn more about the Creative Wellbeing Approach, experience it in action, and ways you can embed it into your own practice!

Healing-Centered Arts practices help put us in touch with our joyful purpose. During this summer renewal retreat, space will be held to:

  • check-in with yourself and reflect
  • tap into your creativity
  • explore healing-informed arts practices
  • receive resources
  • connect with your core values
  • renew your intentions for approaching your work
  • support your own healing and wellbeing

This interactive 3-part series will be guided by teaching artists from the Arts for Healing and Justice Network, an interdisciplinary collaborative providing coordination and support to multiple community-based organizations facilitating healing-informed art programming inside juvenile detention centers, school-based settings, and in community.

This series is brought to you by a partnership between Wellbeing for LA and Creative Wellbeing, a strategic collaboration between the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture, Office of Child Protection, Department of Mental Health, and the Arts for Healing and Justice Network, as part of the LA County Arts Education Collective to advance the goals of Arts for All Children, Youth, and Families.
